SDM-0201 — Remotely Provided Air Traffic Service for Single Aerodrome
Aerodrome Control Service or Aerodrome Flight Information Service for an aerodrome is provided from a remote location, i.e. not from a control tower local to the aerodrome. The ATCO (or AFISO) in this facility performs the remote ATS for the concerned aerodrome.
- Rationale
- The main targets for the Single Remote Aerodrome ATS concept are small rural airports (which today are struggling with low business margins) as well as medium-size airports. Both ATC and AFIS aerodromes are expected to benefit.
