Solution #52 — Remote Tower for two low density aerodromes

Remotely provided Air Traffic services for two low density aerodromes (small Size). Aerodrome Control Service or Aerodrome Flight Information Service for two low-density aerodromes is provided by a single ATCO/AFISO from a remote location, i.e. not from a control tower local to any of the aerodromes. The ATCO (or AFISO) in this facility performs the remote ATS for the concerned aerodromes.
The main target for the two low-density Remote Aerodrome ATS concept is small rural airports, which today are struggling with low business margins. Both ATC and AFIS aerodromes are expected to benefit. Although some cost benefits are possible with remote provision of ATS to a single aerodrome, benefit is expected with remote ATS to two low-density aerodromes.
