AOM-0204 — Europe-wide Shared Use of Military Training Areas

ARES sharing concepts - including cross-border operations (CBO) and cross-border areas (CBA) - are extended at European level. Subject to political endorsement, especially in regard to the dependency on other States (e.g. reciprocity of training opportunities, need to identify and mitigate regulatory and procedural differences).

Rationale
This improvement refers mainly to the multilateral/European/FAB dimension. The objective is to overcome existing national fragmentation in view of the Single European Sky implementation, and the expected harmonisation of airspace design and use at European level and to facilitate military-military cooperation between Armed Forces.
Note: OI initially foreseen in STEP 1 and moved to STEP 2.
Political issues more important than technical ones.
