IS-0408 — Provision of FIS/TIS information to General Aviation during flight
Enable the provision of non-safety critical information services to General Aviation through the use of commercial mobile cellular communications and mobile devices. These information contain actual and updated FIS and TIS data, which will be provided to GA pilots during flight.
- Rationale
- According to the Master Plan, affordable system solutions will allow the operation of all airspace users (including airlines but also military, business, General Aviation and rotorcraft users, as well as operators of drones of all types) in an efficient and non-discriminatory manner, including in non-controlled airspace, while also ensuring safety and security. Multimodal Mobility and Integration of all aerial vehicles will be supported, with particular regard to new business and mission opportunities of new and existing airspace users like civil and state owned (e.g. Police, Fire-Fighting, ¿). These new business opportunities have the potential to bring significant value to society at large. Evolution of transportation modes includes integration of RPAS, Rotorcraft, Business and General aviation operations using performance based CNS infrastructure in the airspace and, in particular, suitable communication means.
