CM-0104-A — Automated Controller Support for Trajectory Management during the planning phase

Automated tools support the ATC team in identifying, assessing and resolving local complexity situations through evaluation of opportunities to de-conflict or to synchronize trajectories during the planning phase.

Rationale
Trajectory prediction and deconfliction for: the Extended ATC Planning and ATC planning role to manage the ATC team's workload by minimising traffic situations with the potential for unforeseen high complexity, through strategic deconfliction and reduction of number of potential conflicts. Providing support to the control team level of operation will improve situational awareness and provide solutions harmonised with the previous LTM level of planning to better manage traffic, e.g. interaction with trajectories in terms of level/ speed etc. The tools will operate, up to circa 30 mins before sector entry. The tools that assist in resolving complexity issues may include a 'What-if' capability where resolution strategies can be trialled before implementation and may provide assistance in identifying the trajectory or trajectories that are causing the most complexity, through interactions or application of sequencing measures or other constraints.
