AOM-0801 — Flexible Sectorisation Management
Sector configuration management is improved as a function of airspace management (Network Operations Plan) to ensure balance between demand and capacity at European network level through more effective resource utilisation, improved flexibility in staff rostering, adaptation and synchronisation of opening schemes across centres, and more generally speaking through harmonisation of working practices.
- Rationale
- Improved agreements with the ATCOs, better working practices and planning tools lead in some cases to a reduction of delays of more 50% without any additional investments. Best practices need to be expanded at European network level in order to make available the latent capacity that still exists in some parts of Europe by using today's systems and best practices of collapsing/de-collapsing sectors.
