A/C-30c — Onboard Detection of Wake Turbulence Encounters

This Enabler covers an airborne function to automatically and objectively identify in-service wake turbulence encounters to support improved operational safety.
The Enabler supports operational monitoring after introduction of new concepts such as static or dynamic pair-wise separations, enhanced arrival procedures using increased glide slopes or displaced touch-down zones, or fleet changes such as introduction of new very large transport aircraft.
It supports the building of statistical databases as basis for future concept and procedure developments.
This Enabler aims to provide efficient and objective inputs for wake vortex encounter risk monitoring as recommended by EC Regulation No. 1035/2011 ''Common Requirements'', Annex II or ICAO State Letter AN 13/4-07/67, and technically specified in the RECAT-EU safety case report.
